The leadership of the People’s National Convention (PNC) has set Saturday, September 28 as date for the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. A statement issued by the acting General Secretary of the party, Jacob Amoako, encouraged members of NEC to disregard any call for a meeting other than that which is scheduled for September 28, 2019. There has been confusion over the exact date for the party’s congress with an earlier communication indicating September 14, 2019 as the NEC meeting date. But acting General Secretary Amoako insists the September 14 date is inaccurate. “NEC members are therefore encouraged to disregard any call for a meeting other than that which is scheduled for the 28.09.2019,” the statement noted. The statement further explained: “In addition, may this serve as a notice to all NEC Members, the general membership of the party and the public that a call for any purported NEC meeting that is to be held on an earlier date other than the 28.09.2019 should be disregarded”.
