Our record in the education sector is better than the NDC – NAPO

The Running mate of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer for 2024 elections, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has berated the opposition National Democratic Congress'(NDC), handling of the education sector, during the Prof Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang era.

He said the sector did not experience any significant transformation, calling on the Ghanaian electorate to reject the NDC in the December 7 election.

He was addressing students at the Fosu Nursing College as part of his campaign tour of the Central Region.

“The future of the country is education and the record of NDC in education is poor”, Dr. Prempeh, also known as ‘NAPO’ reminded Ghanaians and cautioned that the NDC posed a serious threat to the education sector.

He further stated that “It is the NDC which cancelled the teacher and nursing trainee allowances, with its disastrous effects on affected students”.

NAPO also reminded them the infamous “I won’t give you chalk episode” saying it is evidence of the NDC’s insensitivity to the growth of education.

The NPP Vice Presidential Candidate, who is a former Minister of Education also lamented that “over 40,000 school children could not get their results as a result of non-payment of school fees” when NDC was in power.

He reminded the people that the education sector has seen rapid and proper transformation under President Nana Akufo-Addo-Bawumia NPP government hence, the need to retain the ruling party.
