Oquaye returns to contest Dome-Kwabenya NPP primary

Ghana’s Ambassador to India has stated that the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency is calling for a change, a change that will spike developments in the constituency. Mike Oquaye Jnr, who successfully filed his nomination forms to contest in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primary, says his closest rival, the Deputy Majority Leader must be ready to support him should he win. Should he sail through his vetting, Mike Oquaye Jnr will be going toe-to-toe with Sarah Adjoa Safo to determine who represents the NPP in the December parliamentary elections. This will be the second time the two will be facing off in the party’s primaries. In 2012, when the current Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye, who happens to be the father of the Ambassador to India, was exiting Parliament, the two contested in the party primary but Adjoa Safo got the nod. Eight years down the line, the two are set to battle it out again in what is expected to be one of the fiercest contests in the April 25 parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party.
