Counting is underway in rescheduled primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) across a number of constituencies.

Primaries were rescheduled to Sunday, November 22 after at least 10 constituencies could not either complete or start voting to elect a parliamentary flagbearer for the ruling party.

There is heavy police and military presence in Ningo-Prampram Constituency, where incumbent Member of Parliament ET Mensah is facing stiff challenge from Presidential Staffer Sam Nartey George.

Our reporter Nana Kweku Aduah says counting has already begun at some centers some of which are Ningo Presby Basic School and New Ningo Primary One.

In Kumbungu Constituency, TV3’s Zubaida Ismail says there is little security presence in the constituency as counting begins at a number of centers.

Voting, she had reported earlier, was calm and peaceful.

Our Ashanti Region correspondent, Ibrahim Abubakar, reports from the Ahafo Ano North Constituency that counting began immediately after polls closed.
