If you win, be gracious, if you don’t win, be gracious; bow out gracefully – Bentil on Alan

Private legal practitioner, Mr Kofi Bentil, has reacted to the exit of Alan Kyerematen from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race, indicating that “if you win, be gracious, if you don’t win, be gracious”.
The Vice President of Imani Africa in a Facebook post said “When the time comes to bow out, do it gracefully, with the dignity you possess. May your actions place you in good light for the future, and not damage your legacy.”

Mr Kyerematen has withdrawn from the presidential race of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He announced his withdrawal in a statement on Tuesday, September 5.

Mr Kyerematen placed third in the super delegates conference that took place on Saturday, August 26.

Announcing his withdrawal from the main election scheduled to take place on November 4, he said “The level of intimidation of varying intensity, directly and indirectly, unleashed on a significant number of Delegates at various Voting Centers across the sixteen regions, is unprecedented in the history of our Party.

“In addition, the fact that my Polling Agent in the North East region has suffered severe damage to his eyesight, arising from his bold and courageous effort to ensure compliance with the very rules and regulations for the conduct of the elections as approved by the Presidential Elections Committee, will forever remain a dark spot in the history of internal elections within the Party. This incident and various acts of violence and collusion, reported in other Voting Centers, are appalling, unconscionable, and despicable. I am committed to, and value the safety of those who work with me and for me, and I will always fight for their interest.”
