Henry Quartey initially resisted Regional Minister appointment – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commended the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, for his contribution to the development of the nations’ capital Accra since his appointment.

In an interview on Peace FM, Thursday October 21, the president acknowledged his good works saying “‘Since you have mentioned Henry Quartey’s name, let me use this opportunity to commend him because he has done very well. I think everyone has seen or can attest to his performance, that he is doing a good job in the country.

“I will tell you something and it will shock you. When I told him about this post, he didn’t like it because he wanted to do another job.

“At the beginning, he didn’t like it but I told him that he will definitely do the job as regional minister so he should adjust his mind to it and get on to do the work.

“He has proven to be an extremely strong choice and preference. The job he is doing clearly shows that he is not joking and means working effortlessly.

“The things we can see that he has done is the relocation of the people of #Let’s make Accra work agenda and meaningful commitment to sell Accra as cleaner city whose public services are in order.

“All these are the work of a committed minister and I am very happy because it is not just me but Ghanaians have seen his works too”.

Henry Quartey has been leading demolition of of unauthorized structures in some parts of Accra since he became the regional minister.

He also ensured that that the onion sellers at Agbogbloshie were moved from that location to a new market at Adjen Kotoku
