Every baby born in Ghana now has Ghana card and birth certificate number – Bawumia

As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for the 2024 elections, the party’s flag bearer and Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has intensified his campaign activities in the Eastern Region.

In a significant stop in Asuogyaman, Dr. Bawumia engaged with a large crowd, presenting his vision for the digital economy and urging voters to support him and the NPP’s parliamentary candidates.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted the strides made in digitizing essential services, noting the convenience brought about by initiatives like the Ghana Card and the digitization of birth certificates.

“If a child is born today, they’re privileged to have two documents: a Ghana card and a birth certificate number. We have successfully completed the pilot phase and will now move to the schools to register children as young as six years old,” he stated.

Reflecting on his tenure as Vice President, Dr. Bawumia expressed confidence in his ability to achieve more if elected President.

“All the work I have done so far has been as Vice President. I believe if I’m elected President, I will do more,” he said.

Additionally, Dr. Bawumia reiterated the NPP’s commitment to security and the ‘One District, One Factory’ initiative, emphasizing the party’s dedication to fostering economic growth and stability across the country.
