Some delegates of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asawase constituency have picked nomination form for Manaf Ibrahim to contest the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries in the constituency.

According to the delegates, the 2024 General election requires a vibrant candidate who can snatch the Asawase seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

They disclosed that the charisma of the young man and his contribution to the NPP and members of the constituency triggered them to purchase the nomination form for him.

Speaking to the press, the Asawase polling station Women Organizer, Elizabeth Asare, believes this is the right time for the NPP to represent the people of Asawase in Parliament

“We have been looking out for a day like this, and truly, this is the time for Asawase to work again. We have started our campaign, so I’m calling on all party faithfuls to rally behind the NPP and Manaf Ibrahim, so we win the Asawase seat for the NPP.

“Manaf has worked for this constituency over the years and has been helpful to everyone through his social initiatives and financial support to constituents and he is that kind of personality we need to serve the people of asawase that is reason why we as members of the women wing decided to pick this nomination form for him ”, she said.

Some delegates of the party are optimistic that Manaf Ibrahim is the only candidate the party can place a bet on to unseat the five-time Member of Parliament for the area, Muntaka Mubarak

“We need a leader who can work for the people of Asawase and strong enough to unseat Muntaka Mubarak, and Manaf Ibrahim is the right person to do this. He has contributed in all aspects of this constituency in terms of development ranging from health, education, provision of social amenities”, Patrick Oti-Bio, a delegate said.

For most of his supporters, the contribution of Manaf to Asawase NPP cannot be underestimated.

They described him as a staunch party person who understands the plight of the people of Asawase and has already been contributing his quota to better lives.
