Youth of Nzema have expressed gratitude to the Western Region representative on the Council of State, Madam Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh.

They are thankful to her for leading the cause to fix the bridge linking Cape 3 Points, Princess Town, Siliku, Abease and over 100 communities in the Nzema East enclave.

The bridge, according to the youth, has broken down for the past six months, affecting a lot of activities, most importantly tourism, in the area.

The bridge is said to have been devastated by heavy rains in June.

“We cannot express our joy considering this huge intervention,” a press release issued by the Leader of the Western Nzema Youth League, Dr Patrick Ekye Kwesie, on Thursday, November 9 said.

“Our farms, Eco resorts and other economic activities were brought down abruptly.

“Mrs Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh has really overwhelmed us on this and we are forever indebted to her,” the press release said, appealing for a hospital in Princess Town as well.

“Now there is great relief since the only route to Ghana’s only Peninsula has been fixed, that is Cape 3 Points. Tourism is going to bounce back. Now there is hope for the various communities that were domiciled.”

The youth were also grateful to the chiefs of Evalue, Cape 3 Points and Princess Town for their efforts.

They expressed resolve not to rest on their oars to ensure that the “holders” of Western Region’s resources are recognised.
