NPP sympathizes with Kejetia Market fire victims

The fire affected only portions of the market

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sympathized with the victims of the Kejetia Market fire.

The Director of Communications for the party Richard Ahiagbah tweeted that “We sympathize deeply with Kejetia market women, men, and the people of Kumasi for the various degrees of loss. Let’s work together to rebuild better and stronger from the ashes. We stand with Kejetia!”

Portions of the redeveloped Kejetia market were gutted by an inferno on Wednesday March 15.

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS)  faced difficulties in bringing the fire under control.

“The situation is very very serious here,” our Ashanti Region reporter Ibrahim Abubakar earlier reported.

Traders were seen running helter-skelter as thick smoke bellowed from the rear location of the market.

Many tried to salvage some of their wares as the fire raged on.
