NPP asks independent candidates to desist from using party in their campaigns
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asked independent parliamentary candidates using the name of the party in their campaign to desist from such acts.
The party specifically mentions Vivian Ntiriwaah Addae, an independent parliamentary candidate in the Okaikoi South Constituency and Nii Ayittey Attoh, an independent candidate in the Trobo Constituency as foremost in this act.
In a statement signed by Ishmael Ashitey, NPP’s Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has not “asked any of the above independent candidates to campaign on his behalf or to vote ‘skirt and blouse’. They are no longer members of the New Patriotic Party and we ask them to desist from using the NPP’s name in their respective campaigns.”
They stated that NPP’s candidates in the Okaikoi South and Trobo Constituencies are Ahmed Arthur and Moses Anim respectively.
They therefore asked electorates to reject the claims being made by the two independent candidates, and those elsewhere, that they have the mandate of Nana Addo.
