Four suspects held in connection with the gruesome murder of Abubakar Sadiq, an NPP activist in the Asawase Constituency, have been granted bail.

At the Asokwa Magistrate Court presided over by His Worship Korkor Owusu Achaw, the four suspects were released on condition that the prosecutor’s evidence is not strong enough to sustain them in custody.

On December 7, 2015, the same court ordered the suspects to be kept in prison and police custody to enable the Attorney General study their docket and advise accordingly.

After studying the docket, the AG stated in its report that since the prime suspect has been identified as Mohammed Dunna, who is still at large, it will be legally erroneous to continue to hold the four – namely Osman Issah, Hajia Gariba, Alhassan Issah and Bawa Musah – in prison cells.

The four were arrested on November 6, 2015 following an intraparty scuffle in the Asawase constituency of the New Patriotic Party which led to the stabbing to death of Abubakar Sadiq.
