NIB Director denies allegations of illegal land acquisition and engagement with ORAL committee

The Director-General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), Nana Attobrah Quaicoe, has categorically denied allegations made by Martin Kpebu, a member of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee.

Kpebu had claimed on TV3’s The Key Points programme that Mr. Quaicoe had agreed to return a parcel of land illegally acquired from the state in exchange for leniency from the committee.

In a statement issued through his legal counsel, Kudze, Kudze @ Law, Mr. Quaicoe vehemently denied these allegations, describing them as “contrived, false, and without any basis.”

The statement emphasized that Mr. Quaicoe had not engaged with any member of the ORAL Committee, including Chairman Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, on any matters concerning state land.

Mr. Quainoe’s legal team further clarified that he does not own or possess any illegally acquired government land.

The statement further urged the public to disregard these false statements and called on Mr. Kpebu to retract his “utterly false and defamatory statements.”

The legal team warned that legal action may be taken to protect Mr. Quaicoe’s reputation if the retraction is not issued.

The ORAL Committee, established by President John Dramani Mahama, is tasked with gathering information and finding facts on state assets unlawfully acquired by individuals during previous administrations.

The committee comprises prominent figures including Ablakwa, Nathan Kofi Boakye, Martin Kpebu, Raymond Archer, and Daniel Domelevo.
