Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said that if the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government had spent the same time and energies it spends in engaging in propaganda and disputing the NPP’s policies on working to solve the real problems that affect the people of Ghana, Ghanaians would not be suffering so much after four years of their governance.

The NPP Vice Presidential candidate made these comments at the Savelugu Constituency Rally of the New Patriotic Party held in Diari on Monday.

Speaking to thousands of excited party supporters and new converts of the NPP in the Savelugu Constituency, which until now has remained a stronghold of the NDC, he said “the management of our economy and the all aspects of our national life in the last four years has really been poor. And for me the reason for this is quite obvious. They have spent their time on propaganda and lies rather than on real management. If the NDC government had spent its efforts on managing the economy rather than on spewing propaganda and lies, we would have had a better outcome and people’s lives would have been much better”.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who arrived in Diari from the Savelugu township, where he paid a courtesy call on the Savelugu Naa, has been touring Northern Ghana since Thursday,November 22,2012 with the aim of consolidating the gains the party and its presidential candidate has made in the north in the ongoing campaign.

Nana Akufo-Adoo’s running mate indicated that when elected, the Nana Akufo-Addo government would focus on the real concerns of the people including finding decent jobs for the youth and ensuring that the cost of living is made bearable for the ordinary Ghanaian. He said that things that ultimately lead to a reduction in the suffering of Ghanaians would be the utmost and only priorities under the next NPP administration and called on the people to come out in their numbers and ensure that Nana Akufo-Addo emerges as President on December 7.

Before arriving in the Savelugu Constituency, Dr. Bawumia had toured the Nanton Constituency, where he appealed to the people to reinforce their support for the NPP and ensure that the NPP wins in the constituency by an even bigger margin than witnessed in previous elections.

He urged the people of Nanton to reject massively politicians who had specialized in the art of propaganda and deceit.

“My message to the people of Nanton is short and simple. On December 7, please send a loud message that politicians who are specialists in lies and propaganda would not be allowed to lead this constituency and the nation as a whole. Nanton and Ghana in general is filled with people who cherish integrity and that should clearly reflect in who we decide to vote for on voting day”, he said.
