The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) is calling on all eligible voters in the 2018 referendum for the creation of six additional administrative regions to come out in their numbers, Thursday, December 27, “to join the queues at voting centres to exercise their franchise”. A statement signed by the Chairperson of the commission noted the NCCE’s district offices where the referendum will take place have been engaging citizens there on the relevance of the referendum and processes involved in the entire exercise. It also noted  the vibrant role citizens have played towards the elections and commended them for their activities. While reminding voters that it is their civic duty to vote as patriotic citizens, the commission also calls on the security personnel deployed to the various polling centres to protect the public interest. “We also call on security personnel deployed to voting centres to make it their duty to protect voters, electoral officers, election observers and every person involved in this exercise to ensure an incident free exercise”, the statement indicated. The commission is hopeful that Ghana will emerge victorious at the end of the referendm, stressing, “we are one people and Ghana must win at the end of the referendum”. By 3news.com|Ghana]]>
