NAM1 'sneaked out' via unapproved Togo border

Nana Appiah Mensah
The wanted Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah, did not leave Ghana through any of the legitimate exit points, editors.3news.com has gathered.  NAM1, as he is popularly known, had left through an unapproved route on the Ghana-Togo border, a security expert has told TV3. Speaking on News @10 on Wednesday, Adam Bonaa disclosed that the country’s airports and border checkpoints were all alerted over the possibility of NAM1 travelling out of the country in the face of threats from agitated Menzgold customers. But he sneaked out at an unapproved route into Togo, he said. Mr Bonaa told host Stephen Anti that he was later joined by his family, who may, however, have gone through approved routes. On Wednesday, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service confirmed that Nana Appiah Mensah is not in the country. International Police (INTERPOL) was therefore alerted to have him nabbed wherever he is. The courts in Ghana also issued warrants for not only his arrest but also the arrest of all directors of the now dormant gold-trading firm. Source: editors.3news.com|Ghana
