Founder and flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC) Hassan Ayariga has lauded his party’s achievement in the history of Ghana as being the first to be formed within a month.
The former People’s National Convention’s flagbearer said this on Tuesday while addressing the media at a press conference in Accra.
Hassan Ayariga broke ranks with the PNC to found his own political party after losing the flagbearship place to Dr. Edward Mahama last month.
Touching on the party’s activities and structures to satisfy the Electoral Commission, Mr Ayariga talked up the progress made within a short period of time to obtain a provisional certificate.
“It is the first party in the history of Ghana to be formed within one month and also the first party in Ghana to be formed with 150 district offices comprising 10 regional offices and a headquarters”.
He further went on to deny that his party was an Nkrumahist party.
“We are not an Nkrumahist party and even if Nkrumah is to come back alive today he will change his ideologies because times have changed.
“We are living in the 21st century and we must look at the updates. What we are doing and how far we have gone as a nation and based on those things, we will change the lifestyle of our people.”
He pointed out that his party will go into alliance with a political party if “APC gets 25-30% of your votes and we don’t win power”.
