Middle-aged man found dead in Yendi

A young man believed to be in his mid-20s was found dead in the early hours of Tuesday, August 30 at Gutingli in the Yendi Municipality.

Police were called in and the lifeless body of the deceased was examined and later deposited at the Yendi Hospital morgue.

Though the cause of death is yet to be established, many speculate that it may have been a robbery attack on him in the previous night as it is alleged that his belongings including motor bike and phone were taken away from him by the suspected attackers.

The entire community has since been plunged into fear and shock with residents calling on authorities to provide the community with police patrols.

This is the second time within one month that such death has been recorded.

Police in Yendi say they have commenced investigation into the matter and called on the general public to assist with information to apprehend the perpetrators.
