Employees of Media General, parent company of TV3 on Wednesday 28th March begun an internal fundraising exercise to help raise GHC 100,000 to support a kidney transplant and treatment for their colleague and Central Regional Correspondent, Mr. Thomas Cann. Mr. Cann was diagnosed with renal disease in 2013 and has since been on treatment which the company has supported. His condition however deteriorated over the years and he was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease requiring a kidney transplant to keep him alive. Friends and old school mates of Mr. Cann, who are independently leading a fundraising drive to raise GHC 150,000 to supplement the effort of his family and the company, sought the support of Media General to drive publicity for their fundraising effort which has so far yielded GHC 50,000.

To start off, employees of Media General have embarked on an internal campaign #YesWeCann to donate and raise GHC 100,000 to support the ongoing public fundraising drive.

Employees of the company are encouraging all well-wishers who are touched by Thomas Cann’s story to support the #YesWeCann campaign and to donate either to the MTN mobile number 0245221555 or directly to the premises of TV3.
