New Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, the new manager of Chelsea has emphasised the need for instant results, stating that there is “no patience” in football and that the club must “deliver from day one.”

The former Tottenham boss, 51, signed a two-year contract with the option for a third season.

Chelsea endured a turbulent 2022-23 season, which saw them go through three managers and finish 12th in the league.

Pochettino made it clear during his unveiling that there is no time for a gradual rebuilding process, saying, “It is about delivering from now… We cannot tell the people we need six months to create something.”

Addressing the media at his first news conference at Stamford Bridge, Pochettino expressed his satisfaction with the discussions he had with the club’s owners, saying “The most important thing I need to show them is to trust in me and the players, and the fans can trust my decisions and the way we operate. I am not a coach who needs to ask for power.”

Despite being linked with a return to Tottenham after their separation from Antonio Conte, Pochettino opted to join their London rivals instead.

Pochettino faced criticism from his former supporters when he referred to Chelsea as “the greatest team in England” over the past 10 to 15 years during an in-house interview, sparking controversy among Spurs fans.
