The MARWILAK Foundation as part of its Annual Book Donation Drive impacted the academic lives of many pupils in the Natriku DA R/C Basic School in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region. Approximately 450 pupils benefited from this initiative, receiving a treasure trove of educational materials, including exercise books, pens, pencils, sanitary pads, colors for the crèche, rulers, book folders, and other essential learning materials.
The drive is a testament of the foundation’s commitment to advancing effective education. Supporters and volunteers came together to make a tangible difference in the lives of these young learners. The journey to Natriku DA R/C Basic School in the Shai Osudoku District was not just a trip; it was a journey of hope, empowerment, and inspiration.
President of the foundation, Willington Amankwah Marfo, promised scholarship packages that will be awarded two brilliant students to cover their education from Senior High School (SHS) through to the university once they successfully pass their Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E). This pledge, according to Mr. Marfo, is testament of the Foundation’s commitment to nurturing and empowering future leaders.
He also encouraged the pupils to learn diligently and obey their teachers. He emphasized the power of education in transforming lives and urged the students to embrace this opportunity. His words resonated with the students, filling them with a sense of purpose and determination.
The day was not only about the distribution of educational materials but also the recognition of excellence. Mr. Marfo presented an undisclosed amount of money and calculators to students who attained the first position in their respective classes from JHS one (1) to JHS Three (3). This recognition of their hard work served as a source of motivation and inspiration for all students present.
