 Mahama announces Interim National Security Coordinating Team

John Mahama; Ghana’s energy sector needs an urgent surgery, failure to which the economy will crash.

President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has announced a six-member team to oversee and coordinate national security issues pending substantive appointments.

This is contained in a press release signed by a Special Aide, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, dated January 3.

“Former Minister for the Interior, Prosper Douglas Bani, will lead the team. Their mandate begins on Tuesday, January 7, 2025,” Mr Ofosu wrote.

“Other members of the team include:
1. Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.), former Chief of Defence Staff
2. Kofi Totobi Quakyi, former Minister for National Security
3. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq., former National Security Coordinator
4. Brigadier General Fuseini Iddrissu (Rtd.)
4. COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.).” the statement detailed.
