The National Labour Commission (NLC) has directed the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission to resume negotiations with leadership of the Medical Laboratory Professional Workers Union (MELPWU) on July 3.
Dr Cephas Akortor, General Secretary of MELPWU said, they are satisfied with the ruling of the Commission.
“Before we met the Commission today, we had a meeting with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission yesterday plus the Ministry of Finance and we have resolved to meet on the 3rd of July to conclude negotiations and report back to the Commission on the 11th of July,” stated.
“We are hopeful that this engagement would be fruitful and that at the end of the day what we hope for will be achieved,” he added.
Members of the PSWU went on strike to demand immediate resolutions of concerns over their conditions of service.
The Association also demanded that government issues financial clearance for its members to be paid.
