Kwabena Adu Boahene, wife still in custody over unmet bail conditions – Deputy AG

Deputy Attorney General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai has disclosed that former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director Kwabena Adu Boahene and his wife, Angela Adjei Boateng, remain in custody despite being granted bail, as they have not yet fulfilled their bail conditions.

Speaking on TV3’s Ghana Tonight on Monday, March 24, Dr. Srem-Sai revealed that the couple is not the only one still under investigation.

In this particular case, there were about 15 people involved at the last count,” he stated.

He further explained that some suspects have been arrested, while others have been questioned and released.

They are actually on bail. What is left now is for them to fulfill their bail conditions. It’s not just one person that we have in custody; there are 15 suspects,” he added.

In a separate matter, Dr. Srem-Sai has called on the Minority in Parliament and former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Ernest Addison to formally report the alleged theft at Addison’s residence if they want their claims to be taken seriously.

Speaking on Ghana Tonight, he dismissed the allegations as baseless, noting that no official complaint has been filed with the police.

“I would expect that the Minority will advise Dr. Addison to take steps to report to the police. If you [Minority] have chosen not to make any report, yet you want to force the public to accept your allegations of theft in the former central bank governor’s home, that is not right,” he argued.

He also suggested that some Minority MPs have fabricated stories and falsely attributed them to Dr. Addison, stressing that the former governor’s stance on the matter contradicts their claims.
