I’ve never been a member of TESCON – Sam George tells Appointments Committee

Samuel Nartey George.

Minister-designate for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations has dismissed state security information suggesting that he was once a member of TESCON while studying at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Appearing before the Appointments Committee, the NDC MP stated it will be an “unfortunate lie” if anybody suggested or claim that he was once a TESCON member.

During his vetting on Thursday, January 30, 2025, Minority Leader, Afenyo-Markin asserted that upon the Committee’s request of information from state security as part of due diligence, information from the state security suggested that he was once a member of TESCON.

When questioned how true the information was, Sam George refuted the information, stating that he’s never been a TESCON member.

“This is part of the reason why I’m on record to have said that the new Mahama administration has to overhaul our entire state security apparatus because it’s woefully ineffective if it says I’m a member of TESCON,” he retorted.
