Sacked Managing Director of BOST, Alfred Obeng Boateng, says he has accepted in good faith, his dismissal by President Nana Akufo-Addo, adding he will be available to offer his expertise once more whenever the need arises. “I accept your decision in good faith,” he said, adding “I am available at all times to offer my varied expertise”. A letter dated June 6 signed by Secretary to President, Nana Asante Bediatuo relieved Mr. Obeng of his post and appointed George Mensah Okley in his stead. Read: BOST boss booted out In a statement issued Tuesday to thank the President for offering him the opportunity to serve in his government, Mr. Obeng Boateng urged three other government officials who were relieved of their position to take the decision in good faith and support the President to succeed. For him, whether he is part of the government or not, it is his wish that “the government and my party to succeed”. Dr. Obeng Boateng said while he appreciates the support and solidarity shown him in the aftermath of his dismissal, it is important that they “tread cautiously in order not to do anything that may undermine the government and our great party, NPP”. He said he was thankful to critics whose criticisms strengthened him “in all those challenging moments during my tenure” The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers – Ghana (COPEC) which has consistently been critical of Mr. Obeng Boateng’s administration and on several times cited him in a series of serious scandals, applauded the Nana Akufo-Addo for relieving him of his duties at BOST.
