The National Chairman of the People’s National Convention, Moses Danibaah, has asked all members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to disregard any notice for a meeting.

The notice is said to have been issued by General Secretary, Janet Asana Nabla.

In the said notice, NEC is scheduled to meet on Saturday, December 9.

“As the duly elected and serving National Chairman clothed with the mandate to convene and chair National Executive Committee meetings of the PNC, I wish to state categorically that I have not sanctioned any such meeting and as such the letter in circulation is fake and its contents should be disregarded by all well-meaning members of the PNC, especially members of NEC,” Mr Danibaah said in a statement on Tuesday.

He pointed out that he would consult the leadership of the party for a “proper” and “legitimate” meeting to be held in due course.

“By this communique, I wish to call on all NEC members who intend well for our dear party not to be swayed or deceived by this purported NEC meeting as I would in consultation with leadership, convene a proper and legitimate meeting in due course,” he wrote.

He warned: “Any member who deliberately patronises and attends this meeting would be engaging in an illegality which amounts to misconduct punishable by the dictates of the PNC Constitution.”
