According to Oge Nsimah, many women are still single because they stay in relationships with no direction. She advised them not to allow their boyfriends to keep them away from their husbands.
In a Facebook post, the popular Nigerian social commentator wrote that two years is the maxim time for courtship. After these two years, the couple should be married, or it was just a waste of time. She wrote:
“If he doesn’t marry you within 2 years of dating, leave, and if that doesn’t motivate him to marry you, he probably wasn’t going to anyway. A lot of you are single today because you stayed so long with the wrong person. You allowed your boyfriends to keep you away from finding your husband.”
She also asked women to be purposeful with their unions. She said, “At a certain age, you don’t need long and meaningless dating. You date with purpose and strategically #TheUncomfortableTruth”
