I will work with you – Gunu assures Volta Regional House of Chiefs

The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has assured the Volta Regional House of Chiefs of his readiness to work with the House.

He described chiefs and queen mothers as development agents and said his administration would prioritise their engagement for the rapid socio-economic development of the Region.

Mr Gunu said this when he met members of the House in Ho.

He called for unity among the chiefs and the people of the Region, assuring them of his commitment to listen and learn from their experiences and concerns.

Mr Gunu spoke about how he was addressing the urgent water crisis currently facing the Region, reaffirming the government’s commitment to resolving the pressing issue.

He highlighted the administration’s dedication to implementing sustainable development initiatives that promised to significantly benefit local communities.

Mr Gunu expressed concerns about recent attacks on former President Jerry John Rawlings in Parliament and criticised attempts by a few individuals aimed at undermining the appointment of Dr Johnson Esiama as the Governor of the Central Bank.

The chiefs expressed concerns regarding the developmental deficits of the Region.

They were unhappy about unapproved barriers, instances of military intimidation, and the concerning lack of developmental projects, as well as numerous abandoned initiatives throughout the Region.
