The High Court has adjourned the hearing of the application for stay of execution filed by NDC Parliamentary candidates for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, Techiman South, and Ablekuma North indefinitely.
Presiding over the case on Monday, January 13, Judge Baah Forson Agyapong noted that there had been a notice of non-service to the NPP candidates in the four constituencies.
Counsel for the NDC candidates, led by Gideon Abotsi, who was holding brief for Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, informed the court that, due to the recent developments, they would require additional time for the processes to be properly served on the relevant parties.
The judge granted the request and adjourned the case indefinitely.
At the previous hearing, the Bailiffs Manager had informed the court that the bailiffs were unable to serve the stay of execution processes to the lawyer for the NPP candidates. The bailiffs cited that the office had been locked and failed to notify the court. The judge subsequently directed that the bailiffs be questioned and the proper procedures be followed.
Meanwhile, the NPP candidates for Techiman South, Okaikwei Central, and Tema Central have been sworn in as Members of Parliament after the Electoral Commission declared them winners, following the completion of the collation of results from outstanding polling stations in their constituencies.
However, the Ablekuma North Constituency remains unrepresented, as the EC has yet to complete the collation process for that area.
