A gas tanker filled with the highly combustive substance was involved in an accident at the Tetegu junction on the Accra-Kasoa Highway early hours of Wednesday.

The tanker with registration number GT 2286-W, which was heading towards Kasoa from Accra, hit the pavement inbetween the road before it overturned, crossing the road.

As a result, vehicular movement from Accra to Kasoa had to be diverted to use the same route as those Kasoa coming to Accra.

The accident brought heavy traffic on the already congested highway as passengers trek on foot with vehicles stucking in the traffic.
