In a powerful demonstration of love, inclusion and service, the Here for Perfection (H4P), a Ghana-based NGO with UN ECOSOC consultative status, marked the 6th edition of its Celebration of Love initiative with a free health screening and donation event at the Accra Rehabilitation Centre.
For 14 years, the H4P Organization has been a beacon of advocacy and support for persons with disabilities, and this year’s event reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to health equity and dignity for all.
The event, which took place on 25th June, 2025 brought together over 300 individuals—including students, teachers, staff of the Centre and members of various disability groups—to receive a wide range of essential medical services.
Attendees benefited from general health assessments, eye screenings and dental examinations. Medications were provided to all who required them and referrals were issued for cases needing further medical attention.
The atmosphere was one of warmth, gratitude and a profound sense of shared purpose.
CEO and Founder of the H4P Organization Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman emphasized that the Celebration of Love initiative is a heartfelt effort to make healthcare more inclusive and accessible for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
He highlighted the persistent challenges many PWDs face in accessing healthcare—ranging from physical inaccessibility and communication barriers for the hearing impaired to financial constraints.
In response to these systemic gaps, Celebration of Love was created as a compassionate solution—bringing free, quality healthcare directly to the doorsteps of those who need it most.
Bishop Hackman also noted that H4P’s longstanding credibility has fostered strong partnerships with both public and private healthcare institutions, ensuring that referrals from the event are met with timely and professional care.
This extraordinary demonstration of love and care was birthed from the influence of Mrs. Christina Anansewa Hackman, the late mother of Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman, whose lifelong dedication and support for the vulnerable in society especially Persons with disability continue to inspire the organization’s mission.
The event drew notable leaders from the disability sector, including, Madam Rita Kusi Kyeremaa, Executive Director, Ghana Federation of Disability Organizations (GFD), Dr. Peter Obeng-Asamoa, Executive Director, Ghana Blind Union amongst others. Disability groups present included the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD), Ghana National Association of the Deaf (GNAD), Voice of Women and Children with Disabilities, Ghana Federation of Disability Organizations and Ghana Blind Union etc.
In their heartfelt remarks, they expressed profound gratitude to Bishop Hackman and the H4P Organization for their unwavering commitment and compassion toward persons with disabilities. They acknowledged the significant financial and logistical demands such initiatives entail yet commended the H4P Organization for going above and beyond to bring this vision to life.
The dedication of the H4P organization stands as a powerful testament to the impact of love in action and the transformative power of inclusive support.
The day’s activities culminated in a heartfelt donation of food items, essential toiletries and sanitation supplies to the Centre. Each teacher, staff member, and student also received gifts from the H4P Organization, a gesture that brought smiles and tears of joy to many.
As the sun set over the Accra Rehabilitation Centre, the message was clear: love, when put into action, can heal, uplift and transform lives.
