Board Chairman of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRDICo), Amb. Kabral Blay-Amihere and 14 others including former President John Agyekum Kufuor were honoured for their media activism, contribution to free speech, media training, and policies that led to expansion of press freedom in Ghana.
Amb. Blay-Amihere is a Veteran Journalist who was at the forefront of media activism from the 80’s until the early 2000s.
He is a former President of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) and West-Africa Journalist Association, Chairman of the National Media Commission (NMC) and publisher of the Independent Newspaper.
After 25 years of media practice, he transitioned into other roles as Diplomat and Author.
The award is the initiative of the Centre for Media and Culture led by Enimil Ashong.
