Government is expected to engage Organised Labour in a crunch meeting at the presidency on Thursday, January 21.

This follows a nationwide demonstration staged by the workers on Wednesday, January 20.

Labour activated a roadmap to put pressure on government to reduce utility tariffs and withdraw the Energy Sector Levy Act.

The roadmap was scaled up on Wednesday after red arm bands were worn by workers last week.

Even before capering to the next move of embarking on a strike action, Organised Labour has been invited for a meeting to negotiate its demands.

The meeting has been fixed for 2:00pm and it is expected to be coordinated by the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu, in the absence of President John Dramani Mahama, who has left Accra for Switzerland.

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, and other ministers are expected to be at the meeting.
