Government is exploring options for cheaper, quality fuel – NPA CEO

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) is exploring all possible avenues to ensure that Ghanaians have access to cheaper, reliable, and quality fuel, according to its Acting CEO, Godwin Edudzi Tameklo.

In his first public remarks after assuming office, the CEO assured Ghanaians that the NPA is working tirelessly to fulfill President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to reducing the cost of petroleum products.

“A whole team is together, exploring every possible avenue to ensure that the price of petroleum products meets what our people can afford,” he said on January 27.

He added that ordinary drivers, households, and businesses can expect relief as efforts are being made to deliver affordable fuel without compromising quality or reliability.

The CEO also emphasized the NPA’s regulatory role, stating that strict adherence to standards will drive the Authority’s operations. “What is required from the NPA will be done, ensuring that every reform needed to make this a reality is brought on board,” he assured.

He reaffirmed that President Mahama is committed to ensuring that Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector delivers results that benefit all citizens.
