The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has announced that it will hold its Annual General Meeting on March 31.
This is contained in a press release dated March 17 and signed by the General Secretary, Kofi Yeboah.
“Pursuant to Article 34(f) of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Constitution 2004, the National Executive of the GJA has decided to hold this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association on March 31, 2025 at 11:00am at the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra,” the GJA press release said.
This is in line with Article 34(a)(ii) of the GJA Constitution.
“…the AGM, which is the highest decision-making body of the Association, shall be convened by the National Executive in the first quarter of each year,” Mr Yeboah explained.
According to the General Secretary, the meeting will be used to “discuss the General Secretary’s Annual Report; the audited accounts of the Association to be presented by the National Treasurer; regional reports, and any other business.”
“All members in good standing as of December 31, 2024, are entitled to attend the AGM. Members in good standing, with the exception of honorary and student members, shall have the right to vote at the AGM,” Mr Yeboah added.
