The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) will hold its national and regional executive elections today, Monday, June 30, 2025 at specified polling places throughout the nation.
The GJA Election Committee announced that voting will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
Voting is open to all eligible members who present any of these valid form of identification—Ghana Card, Voter ID, or National Passport bearing the journalist’s name and photograph.
The Committee has announced that ballot counting, results announcement, and official declarations will take place immediately after voting concludes at each centre.
This election is expected to usher in new leadership at both national and regional levels to steer the affairs of the association over the next term.
In a statement issued earlier, the Committee cautioned against the circulation of a fake voters’ list on social media ahead of the elections.
The Committee urged all members to ignore what it described as “mischievous fabrication” parading as voter’s list and rely solely on the official voters’ register, which has been duly signed by both the GJA General Secretary and Treasurer.
The Committee adviced members to seek verification directly from the Elections Committee or visit the official GJA website if in doubt.
