Ghana’s economy managed to record a positive GDP growth in spite of Covid-pandemic – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said despite the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and its effects on global economy, Ghana’s economy was able to record a positive Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth.

He said this during the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) Annual Investment Summit dubbed #SparkUp2021 !

 “ #Ghana’s economy was one of the few that managed to record a positive GDP growth, in spite of the #COVID19 pandemic” – he said.

For his part, information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said that investment must be the third most important conversation in Ghana after security and public finance

“That should in my view be the 3rd most important conversation in Ghana (after security and public finance),” he said in a tweet on

“I’m excited that the GIPC collaborated with my Ministry on this very important move. “

“In focusing our attention on the things that create jobs and incomes for people, we will be gradually improving the quality of lives and dignity of our people.”
