Ghana closes VVIP and VIP lounges at its international airport

The Kotoka International Airport is Ghana’s main international airport
Ghana’s Kotoka International Airport in Accra will from Monday close its VVIP and VIP lounges to the public until further notice, the Foreign Affairs Ministry has announced. “…It has become necessary to shut down the V.V.I.P and V.I.P Lounges at the Kotoka International Airport, with very limited access, from Monday 12th June, 2017 until further notice,” a statement from the Ministry said. No reasons were given by the Ministry for the temporary closure of the lounges at the country’s main international airport, except to say it is “due to circumstances beyond its control”.

The Ministry said special arrangement would be put in place by its protocol bureau for diplomatic corps and senior only. “In this regard, all other passengers are advised to use the normal departure and arrival channels at the Kotoka International Airport,” the Ministry advised. The airport is the country’s aviation hub for domestic, regional and international flights. By editors.3news.com|Ghana
