Freight-forwarder picks NDC forms to contest Mahama

A 45-year-old freight forwarder has picked forms at the headoffice of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to contest President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming primary of the party.

George Boateng picked his forms on Monday, August 31 in time for the November 7 primary.

He becomes the first member to pick forms to contest the current leader of the party, Mr Mahama, who is highly tipped to be retained.

Mr Boateng, who is a staunch member of the party in the Madina Constituency, paid a total of GH¢51,000 for the forms as well as filing fee.

If he is cleared for the primaries, Mr Boateng will become the second Ghanaian after Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings to contest a sitting president in internal contests.
