The family of the late Amma Bame Busia has announced the opening of a book of condolence at her residence for sympathizers.

The family says well-wishers can visit on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11am to 4pm each day.

“Friends, sympathisers and well-wishers who intend to visit the family and offer their condolences may do so on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at her Abelemkpe residence from 11am to 4pm each day,” Abusuapanyin Obeng Gyan Busia said in a statement dated December 18, 2023.

According to the family, the deceased, who was Matriarch of the Sofoase Yefri royal family, Wenchi and former member of the Council of State as well as member of NPP Council of Elders, died at the Nyaho Medical Centre on the 12th December 2023, after a protracted illness.

The late Madam Ama Busia was a sister to Kofi Abrefa Busia, former , under the Second Republic. She was a Founding Member of the NPP’s political tradition. She also served as the National First Vice Chairperson of the NPP.

Amma Busia had her primary education at Wenchi Methodist School and Methodist Middle Girls’ School in Kumasi. She trained as a teacher at the Komenda Training College. In 1959, she went into exile in London with her brother, Kofi Abrefa Busia. While there, she studied Institutional Management and Catering at the Regent Street Polytechnic.- Wikipedia.
