The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, has urged Ghanaians especially political parties to make the preservation of the country’s peace a priority.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 75th anniversary of the Kalande Presby Church on November 23, the moderator appealed to the youth not to allow any politician to use them to cause trouble.

“It is a fact that tensions are already building up ahead of the elections, but it is also important to remember that we should not allow ourselves to be tempted and used to perpetuate crime”

“I call on the electoral commission to discharge their duties without any hitches which I believe will if done, will amount to a sustainable peace during this electioneering period”

He urged political parties to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful manner.

“It should be possible for us to have elections without any deaths. And so I call on every Ghanaian to show the whole of Africa that we are the beacon of democracy”
