Former GFA president and a candidate of the Ejisu NPP primaries has stormed the voting center after being admitted at Asokore Mampong hospital on Friday night.

A source from his camp has attributed his condition to post-Ramadan stress.

He appeared at the voting center apparently weak and was assisted by a member of his team to walk. Evidence of a cannula injection could be seen at the back of his right hand.

Nyantakyi hospitalised night before Ejisu NPP Parliamentary Primary

Mr. Nyantakyi was hospitalized on Friday after he suffered stomach pain. He was admitted at the Legacy Hospital at Asokore Mampong for treatment.

However, Mr. Nyantakyi was discharged on Saturday morning, the same day of the election and has since visited the voting centre.

It is unclear yet whether he has fully recovered to be engaged in the activities for the election day.

A total of 1,081 delegates are expected to vote to decide a candidate who will represent the New Patriotic Party in the upcoming By-election in the Ejisu Constituency.

The party is holding its Parliamentary primary to choose a candidate after the demise of the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, John Ampontuah Kumah.

Dr Kumah died aged 45 after a short illness.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has set Tuesday, April 30, to hold the Ejisu constituency by-election.
