The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is reported to have cut off power supply to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) again.

This will be the second time in four months that the state’s power distribution company is disconnecting the state’s oil refinery from the national grid.

This has been due to huge debt, 3news.com gathers.

TOR settled part of the GH¢26 million debt the last time ECG approached the facility in March.

The latest power cut on Thursday, July 13 is due to the inability of TOR to honour a payment schedule after squeezing out GH¢5 million.

Already, management is said to have struggled to pay June salaries.

According to workers, most of whom spoke on anonymity, salaries delayed by a week.

This has heightened calls for the plan to lease the oil refinery to a strategic partner for operations to start soon.
