A group calling itself Concerned Ghanaians in the USA on Wednesday, September 30 demonstrated against President John Dramani Mahama moments before delivering his address to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Numbering about 50, members of the group demonstrated against the current voters’ register, saying it is bloated and not legitimate for the 2016 elections.

They carried placards which read ‘We want a voters’ register for Ghanaians only’, ‘Stop police Brutality on Peaceful protests in Ghana’ among others.

“We are going to make sure that our voices are heard even within the inner bowels of the General Assembly building; donor partners who financially support Ghana’s elections, other dignitaries and presidents need to see the dangers that lurk around for Ghana in election 2016, if a new voter’s register is not used,” a notice from the group before the demonstration said.

They held Ghana flags and pictures of President Mahama as well as the placards in front of the UN headquarters in New York.
