Although their suspension has been lifted, all four lawmakers who were suspended for their role in the chaos have also been invited by the committee that is probing the ministerial vetting chaos, to testify.

The Chair of the committee Emmanuel Bedzrah, announced this during sitting on Friday, February 7.

He further appealed to the Speaker of Parliament for two more days to enable them to finish their work.

They were expected to complete their work on Monday, February  10.

Tthe committee also invited the ranking member of the Appointments Committee Alexander Afenyo-Markin to come and testify.

The disorder, which escalated into heated confrontations among MPs, prompted Speaker Alban Bagbin to suspend four lawmakers and initiate a formal inquiry.

The MPs suspended were; Rockson Dafeamekpor, Hassan Tampuli, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, and Frank Annor Dompreh. Their suspension has since been rescinded by the Speaker.

The investigative committee, chaired by the Ho West MP has been mandated to identify those responsible and propose appropriate sanctions.

Ablakwa’s testimony introduces a new dimension to the inquiry, suggesting underlying political motivations behind the disruptions.
