Chief Imam to launch biography in July

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu is set to launch his biography in Accra in July 2019. The Chief Imam who is known as a symbol of peace with a modest lifestyle and humility turned 100-years in April 2019. The launch of his biography is to afford the current generation and those unborn to emulate the life of the Chief Imam and draw inspiration from a life well lived. Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu disclosed the intention to launch his biography next month when Ghanaian music maestro, Kojo Antwi, paid a courtesy call on him at his residence in Fadama in Accra. The visit was to pay homage to the Chief Imam as part of his centenary celebrations. Accompanied by his guitarist, Kwame Yeboah, Kojo Antwi said, “I am here to pay homage to you, your Eminence, on attaining the glorious years of hundred and also to congratulate you for this blessings on you by the Almighty God”. The music legend added that he was honoured and delighted to be warmly welcomed into the home of the Chief Imam for the second time. “My first time here was many years ago when I needed you to support a project I embarked upon to raise funds for the victims of the spillage of a dam in the North. You willingly supported with a campaign message and I am happy to be here again”, Kojo Antwi said. He said assured that “this won’t be my last and I pray to the Almighty God to continue to give you good health and long life so that we can continue to visit you”. In a warm and lively conversation with the Chief Imam, Kojo Antwi recalled with nostalgia his days as a young boy growing up at nearby Darkuman and  playing around the home of the Chief Imam. He described the Chief Imam as a symbol of peace, whose modest lifestyle and humility should be emulated. Chief Imam Sheikh Osman expressed his sincere appreciation to Kojo Antwi for the visit and the birthday presents he gave him. The maestro took the opportunity to present among others, a beautiful hand-made portrait of the Chief Imam. Sheikh Sharubutu prayed for the ‘Music Man’ to live longer than himself.
