The prayers of Isaac Berkai, a second-year student of the University of Education Winneba (UEW) who is also blind were answered through Verna Purified Water’s Live Changing campaign.

He shared his story at the Madina Market during the Verna Changing Lives campaign dubbed the ‘Accra Turning Point’ on Wednesday 6th September 2023.

His touching story got him chosen among the others as the winner of the GHC 5000 support from Verna which is given to one vulnerable individual every week and scheduled to run for 12 weeks in Accra.

According to him he faces significant financial difficulties and is in danger of deferring or forfeiting his studies. As a result, he traveled from Winneba to seek assistance from an aunty, but she was unable to do so.

“I came to seek assistance from my aunty but to no avail. As I was passing by, I heard that 3FM and Verna are here to give out money to a lucky vulnerable person so I decided to try my luck” Isaac said.

This CSR project aims to better the lives of those burdened by adversity through the regular provision of prompt responses to the urgent problems faced by people on the streets of Accra.

Isaac Berkai is the first male and the fifth beneficiary of Verna Changing Lives comparing since it commenced in Accra. Previous winners are 32 years old Gladys Blessing a physically challenged street hawker, Lydia Korkoi Armah 61 years old petty trader who needed money for her medical bills, a 44 years old female coconut seller, Lorraine Obeng a mother of two who is doing a male-dominated job to cater for her children’s education, and Madam Grace Adoley Pappoe, 64 years old onions and garlic seller at Makola 31st Market.

Verna Changing Lives is powered by 3FM 92.7 MHz Your Urban Lifestyle radio.
