"It is just one plot, not four." - Okudzeto Ablakwa clarifies reports on his Airport Hills residence

The Minister for Foreign Affairs-designate, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced plans to introduce a 24-hour passport office operation in Ghana to expedite passport processing.

Speaking on The KeyPoints with Alfred Ocansey on February 8, he emphasized that the move aligns with the NDC’s vision for a 24-hour economy.

“For the first time, we want the passport office to operate 24 hours. This will be the first step towards the general 24-hour operation of our mission,” he stated.

According to him, digitization will play a crucial role in this initiative, ensuring that passport applications, printing, and courier delivery are processed round the clock.

He noted that the new system would enable applicants to receive their passports within a week, while those with urgent needs—such as students with scholarship deadlines or medical emergencies—could get theirs within three days.

“This will expedite the delivery time, and applicants can walk in even at 9 PM or 10 PM to get their passports processed,” he added.
