Amasaman: NACOC arrests man with 28 slaps of substance believed to be cannabis, other illicit drugs 

The suspect

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested a man suspected to be leading a cartel engaged in the trade of illicit drugs.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, was nabbed at 12:30am on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Dobro, near Amasaman in the Ga West municipality of Greater Accra.

NACOC raided a residence at Dobro acting on credible intelligence, leading to the arrest of the man who is also a local youth leader, suspected to be a drug kingpin in the enclave.

The officers, upon arrival at the residence, uncovered a large stash of illicit substances, with cannabis being the predominant drug found among various others.

The suspect is believed to be a major figure in the local drug trade, and the arrest marks a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle drug distribution networks in the area.
